If you are starting your first job or even just a new job – you are probably very keen to give a good impression. This is the point at which bullies and harassers will start to groom, start to size you up.
So sure, make that good impression but be on your guard – if something doesn’t sound
quite right ALWAYS ask a question even, “I didn’t quite catch that, what did you say?”
can make a perpetrator back off because you are demonstrating that you know you have a right to question. Plus, asking a question allows you time to compute what is going on.
