State-sanctioned abuse

The good news is that we now have Jade’s law, under which partner-killers lose parental rights over their children. However, the family courts are still forcing women to give abusive fathers access to their children. Parental alienation is what these women are accused of. In one case, a father with a criminal record for raping a child was given access to his children. So, on the one hand, children can be taken into care if their mother maintains a relationship with a domestically violent partner, yet the family courts could force her to allow the abuser access to their children – I know families are complex but this is a mess. Not unsurprisingly, some women have taken their children on the run to avoid complying with such family court rulings – wouldn’t you?
