I thought this was a credible apology
But then after Ye had a year out to think he comes up with this:
Ye starts by describing his 2009 taking Taylor’s mic as a moment of “Sincerity…I feel like, in some ways, I’m a soldier of culture, but when I feel convinced about things that really meant stuff to culture that constantly get denied for years, and years, and years, I’m sorry, I won’t. I can not lie about it in order to sell records.
So he’s sorry but he was right?
Taylor did what nice girls do she played nice with Ye
Then Ye said that Taylor had spoken with him on the phone and had agreed to his lyrics to Famous.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”
Taylor’s team said it wasn’t true she had warned him about misogynistic lyrics. Ye’s wife at the time, Kim Kardashian, produced a recording of the conversation which seemed to support Ye’s version of events until the full recording of the conversation was leaked – Taylor was telling the truth.
Taylor then called Ye and his wife ‘Trash’ – I disagree with her here Ye isn’t Trash (I find that term classist, like using the word chavs in the UK.) I think Ye is a class one arsehole. You could forgive the 2009 mic snatch with a genuine apology, but this has been a whole campaign. Ye may be a clever arsehole, but a clever arsehole is an arsehole. And don’t tell me it all due to Ye’s mental health. I’ve yet to see a genuinely nice human being turn into an arsehole due solely to a mental health problem.
Taylor’s win
Taylor graduates – David Mueller, a former DJ, sued Taylor Swift in 2015 for defamation. Mueller claimed that Swift’s allegations that he groped her at a 2013 meet-and-greet cost him his job and damaged his reputation. Swift countersued Mueller for battery and sexual assault, seeking a symbolic $1 in damages. The trial lasted one week, beginning on August 7, 2017, with both Mueller and Swift appearing in court. Taylor won.
I’ll bet a wiser Taylor Swift is now reasonable rather than always nice to everyone. Ye has gone on to further outrageous statements, subject to the law of diminishing marginal returns – adding more outrage will give him smaller and smaller returns.
