It’s not just the nurses Steve Barclay is trying to bullying!
Steve Barclay is said to be angry all the time – that’s intimidating that’s bullying. https://tinyurl.com/474tj68z
Was Barclay whom Raab had in mind when he said other ministers were worried they also would be accused? I know managers at the BBC and within trade unions who’ve had to sack people, but some of those sacked still liked the manager – in every case, because the manager treated them with respect. If, as a manager, you have to deal with someone who isn’t doing their job well, then it’s your job to get that report to perform at the required level. If you’re genuinely trying to help that person reach the required standard, it will be all about their performance; if you can’t control or ‘regulate’ your behaviour, then it’s all about you and your performance. If you can’t behave like an adult, you aren’t qualified to be in a workplace! It’s about time someone told politicians to grow up.
In most investigations into bullying that I have been involved in, even when a manager was found guilty, they are still given some benefit of the doubt. The report into their behaviour is watered down. Investigating lawyers want hard evidence. I wish someone would press record on their phone, not to reveal state secrets; it’s the behaviour we want to improve – for recording without permission they would probably lose their job, but they might raise standards in public office as ministers would not want to risk exposure. From reading Adam Tolley KC’s report on Raab, I expect that Raab was a whole lot worse than appears.
People make their worst mistakes when they are their most arrogant – we have many people in government right now who are very arrogant.
Good Morning poll, should nurses be banned for striking: 21% in favour, 79% against.
Even if you usually vote for the Conservatives, please vote for other parties during the local elections on May 4th to show how many people think the Tories are fumbling with the most important ministry – Health. The NHS – quite rightly, is a religion in the UK – it’s time to get fundamentalist with this government.
