Domestic terrorism

Please remember how charming abusers can be, particularly at the start of a relationship or in public. It’s between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 women in the U.S and U.K – that’s a lot of women…you’ll probably know at least one. You can’t split up an abusive relationship, if you try, you will be playing into the abuser’s hands, and the target may lose contact with you as a result. Make sure they know you’ll be there should they ever need a safe place to go. What happens behind closed doors and how domestic violence primes children to be future targets or abusers – it’s becomes their normal! A co-workers helped in this case by keeping a record of injuries they noticed it helped put the abuser in prison for a long time.
